Close your eyes and you’ll hear trombones, trumpets, a tuba and double bass. But don’t trust your ears! What you are actually hearing is Java Five.  These five well-dressed young men celebrate the heritage of the vocal swing of the 1930s and 40s with dedication, a fine sense of humour and adorable charm. Four singers accompanied by a guitarist serve up swinging songs interspersed with sentimental reminiscences, cheerful repartee and dry wit. With their clever imitations of instruments, fine string playing and effortlessly brilliant vocalisations these five gentlemen radiate an exquisite good humour. Java Five brings swing to life with interpretations that range from the aesthetic to cabaret.  Over the past few years the pure harmonies of Java Five and the amusing comments from their compère have ensured that their concerts have been occasions for celebration.  The quintet gets its energy from the timeless spirit of swing music, enjoying it to the full, and is consequently a sheer pleasure to listen to – and not just for fans of swing.

Their latest project The Big Swing Jam - Vocal Swing meets Bigband Sound, unificates their sound with a whole bigband. The 1st night took place at the opera in Halle with the Leipzig Bigband, that became well known during a tour and CD-production with Nina Hagen in 2004. Further concerts e.g. MDR-Musiksommer, Theaterplatz Dresden, Tipi Berlin. In future Java Five can be booked as guest singer at Your bigband-concert. All arrangements are hold by Java Five.
